She gave a very interesting presentation on the role of the Medical Services provided by the International Brigades during the Spanish Civil War.
Many new techniques were developed by these pioneers battling to save lives of both military and civilian (This was the first was when more civilians died that military) due to the new types of injury being sustained from aerial bombardments and different types of warfare.More here Linda Palfreeman interview and here
