One of my fellow co-contribtors to the Expat anthology 'Courting the Bull' (more detail on the RHD of this blog) Linda Palfreeman launched her new book 'Crisis in Catral' last Friday.
I was invited to the launch and have prepared a press release on her behalf for the local Costa Blanca newspapers. Linda and her mother are unwittingly caught up in the illegal houses scandal that has made Catral famous or possibly infamous. Her delightful book was written to highlight her and the other victims plight but is not just a rant and rave about Spanish town planning failings. It is a charming account of how her and her mother, Audrey, who in Linda's words "Is my main protagonist in the book" adapt to Expat life in Catral and the encounters with tradesman and the locals in the campo (countryside)
A great read for all - sure to have you laughing as well as sympathising for their current unfortunate predicament.

Harry Gardiner
Sex Violence Murder Passion RevengeSo says the headline on author Harry Gardiner's website
Harry was a guest speaker at todays Torrevieja Writers Circle meeting - and a lively one he was to, with tales from his days on the 'Met'
His working life has created a wealth of experiences from which to draw helping him write his fictional tales. He has kindly agreed to be featured in a future 'Bibliomaniac Page' (The Inland Magazine) and I think the members would appreciate a further visit from this interesting character.
Can't wait to read one of his best sellers........

And another one?
I have been blogging recently on the issue of 'free' internet services now becoming chargeable.
My website is hosted by 'Siteground' who have for many years supplied as part of the package an internet site building program called surprisingly 'Sitebuilder'
Well guess what - due to that package being somewhat obsolete - OK it does lack some options but it does the job, they plan to replace it with a new option but at a price.
What price? well that is the 64,0000$ question because they do not make that clear. Which naturally makes it even more confusing and annoying.
Why don't they just come clean?
For the meantime I shall stay on the old (free) system but doubtless that will be turned off very soon.

Writers Abroad - On the Move
My international Expat writing group - Writers Abroad is moving. We are electronically relocating to a new home because Ning our current landlords are introducing charges.
I mentioned this in a previous blog. So we have reviewed our options and decided to relocate to Spruz.
Which despite its rather unattractive name (and not very good for marketing?) is in fact a rather delightful site and easy to setup and use.
So my new Writers Abroad address is here
