The mighty British, built by Vickers, guns still stare menacingly out to sea. In their day they could have fired an armour piercing shell at a target over 20 miles away.
I had a wonderful day exploring (very literally - climbing up inside!) the old installation which has now been decommissioned.
There will be an article on the guns et al early in 2009.

The Annual General Meeting
Taking a break from writing last night I attended an AGM of the Phoenix Classic Car Club of which I am now a fully paid up member. It is a long time since I attended an AGM and it was conducted in a very professional manner in accordance with the Spanish association rules.
However being a member of a car club but not owning a classic car is like being in a golf club without any any clubs!
So I must continue to search the car sales web sites looking for a bargain and what better time than in a crisis!!

THE WORLD OF SURREALISM
This week I have interviewed TJ Miles, a professional locally based Surrealist artist, for a forthcoming article. One of his works 'Gambling With Initiative' is produced above.
He told me that one of his favourite artists is Dali (but the gadget was broken so I have added Picasso artwork to this blog) who TJ says 'was totally mad'
More details when and where this interesting article will be published will follow later.

More Reader Feedback!
Regular readers will know that I sometimes blog on reader feedback. Today I had an interesting email from a reader, named Geoff, who quite correctly pointed our several errors (including one of a mathematical nature) in the November `Rob's Bits and Bobs Page´
I could of course blame the proof reader or the printers but as there is no proof reader and the printers do not typeset but print the electronic data that they are sent (and it would be dishonest) these are not options.
So yes Geoff I am guilty as stated and I will take up your suggestion to try harder in the December edition.
Proves at least somebody reads (thoroughly!) it.
Thanks Geoff!
PS And he missed some!
