The VOR Village Opens!

The Volvo Ocean race village has opened in Alicante port - this is the focal point of the race and offers plenty of entertainment for the whole family and entry is free! The race will be controlled from here and is open to the public up until the race start day: October 11th 2008 Every day different entertainment is scheduled - although there are some showers of rain forecast over the next few days! Some of the highlights include rock concerts by Bryan Adams (Oct 4th) and UB40 (Oct 10th) The Inland Magazine will be running my follow up article. Let the Adventure Begin in their October edition. A Nice Rejection

Rejections are all part of a writers life - but it is always better when they come with some useful feedback: Sorry, but Richard declined your article for his new magazine. But here are his words: 'Unfortunately the article 'Has The Exodus Begun' does not fit into the concept of the magazine and I reluctantly have to decline it. It is a very good and well written piece, which would fit very nicely into many other publications.' So off to other publications it goes - the Spanish say `Vamos a Ver´ - in other words - we will see. A small mystery regarding my Star letter in Writing Magazine - having now had the chance to view the Sept edition my letter does not appear - so I assume they mean the October edition! but the prize has arrived - so it should appear some where! Another Vamos a Ver!

New magazine - currently under wraps!

Our writing circle leader (Nik Morton, published author) has invited us to contribute items for a new magazine - due to be launched here very soon. It will be sold and therefore will not contain any advertising! Watch this space for more information. I am drafting a couple of ideas to contribute to this exciting project.

I thought Googles Picasa software for managing digital photos was good - but - Picasa 3 is just incredible and it is free - what are you waiting for ?

I opened the non-descript brown envelope thinking `More rubbish´ but no! I was delighted to read that I had won `Star Letter´ in the September edition of Writing Magazine and a prize of Writers Market 2009 (a useful tome selling at 14.99 pds) was on its way to me!
