Parcs Naturals de la Comunitat Valenciana

My region - Valencia - has 23 natural parks including 1 on my doorstep in Torrevieja which I will be featuring in the 1st of my reviews to be published in The Inland Magazine very soon (probably June TBC) I am looking forward to visiting more of the parks and researching for this exciting project. Some of the parks are protected by the RAMSAR convention and have rare bird and plant life...........there is more to Spain than concrete!

I DONT BELIEVE IT!

It is Saturday afternoon - traditional time (in the UK) for football and my team - Southampton - have just lost again - the 2nd division beckons - what happened to those heady days of the Premiership with the gods of football. The problem? Money of course - we have not got any!

Amazing what you can discover..

Whilst on the Guided tour of Guardamar (south Alicante) this week (all in aid of research for my Xpat commission) I discovered that the Phoenicians had in fact beaten the Germans and the Brits to the best sun beds in 8 BC (!!) Doubtless more interesting facts will come to light in Elche and Alicante..............

Hard work being a Tourist!

Madrid is a fantastic city to visit - lots to see and do. Good value restaurants and lots of night life. However when its 30 degrees plus doing the tourist bit is hard work. Lots of research done for planned articles - and I went up flying in a 2 seater! and more importantly survived. By the way the Prado is great value at only 6 euros. Ok back to work...................

It is nice to be in demand!

Funny how everything can happen at once! I was invited to meet with the editorial staff of The Inland Magazine - who have published my article ' Walking just went High Tech' April edition Pg18 (also available online: www.timspain.com) but I am going to Madrid and so had to postpone the get together until next week. Then The Xpat Spain emailed to say they liked some of my ideas and have commissioned me to contribute to their expanding web site: www.thexpat.com Have fun!
